Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Lauren DeArmas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from James Madison University. Lauren has experience working with children, adolescents, at-risk youth, individuals, families, and groups. She has worked extensively in the court systems doing custody evaluations, parent child evaluations, and providing expert witness testimony. She has also worked in the school system doing suicide assessments, groups, and counseling. She desires to assist in the improvement of her client’s overall functioning and well-being by utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, dialectical behavior therapy techniques, solution focused interventions, and Christian counseling. She believes the most important component to effective therapy is her relationship with her clients, so she approaches each person with compassion, understanding, encouragement, and acceptance.
In her personal life, she understands what it is like to watch loved one’s struggle with medical issues and the demands of being a caretaker. She knows life can be a struggle but believes we do not have to struggle alone. She seeks to bring clarity, hope, and healing to her clients.
