Building Connections. Inspiring Growth.
Whether you're seeking support for your child, navigating personal challenges as an adult, or helping your family through a difficult season, taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming. Alex believes that healing begins with a genuine connection built on trust, compassion, and understanding. His goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where every client feels heard, respected, and empowered to grow.
Alex earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Mary Washington and his Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, and families in school-based and outpatient mental health settings. His experience has allowed him to develop a strong understanding of the unique emotional, behavioral, and life challenges people face throughout every stage of life.
Alex is especially passionate about helping children and adolescents develop confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills. He is known for his calm, approachable, and engaging style, helping young people feel comfortable while building trusting therapeutic relationships. At the same time, he enjoys working with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and personal challenges, tailoring treatment to meet each person's unique goals and strengths.
Alex's approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. He integrates evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed interventions. He believes lasting change happens when clients feel supported, empowered, and actively involved in the therapeutic process.
