Amy Whittaker

​Masters Level Intern

Amy is a counseling supervisee with a passion for helping clients gain deeper insights through a collaborative therapeutic relationship as they explore new ways to navigate life's challenges. She believes in a person-centered approach to counseling, utilizing an integrative method to meet the unique needs of each client. Her approach emphasizes evidence-based therapies, including mindfulness strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused models.

Her experiences include geriatric counseling, working with adolescents as a special education teacher for high school students, and providing case management and group counseling in the behavioral health unit at a local hospital. Additionally, she has direct experience assisting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and traumatic brain injury.

Amy is currently completing a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She earned a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling for Marriage and Family in 2023 and returned to Liberty University to pursue her dream of becoming an LPC after battling cancer. Amy believes that her unique life experiences have endowed her with the sensitivity and empathy essential to providing compassionate care to clients across a broad spectrum of needs.
