Jessica Silva
Masters Level Intern
Jessica is currently working to complete her master's degree in social work through an online program with Louisiana State University. Upon completion of her degree, Jessica plans to pursue clinical licensing to become an LCSW. She has received an undergraduate degree in human services with an emphasis on behavioral health, substance abuse, and addiction medicine from Great Basin College and she graduated cum laude. She is currently an intern at Kairos Counseling where she will be supervised by a licensed professional while seeing select patients.
Prior to this, Jessica has interned with a crisis call center, an assisted living facility, and a non-profit that provides conflict resolution, anger management, and life skills mentoring to students. Her most recent internship was under a school social worker who works with students ranging from pre-k through grade 12.
She believes that genuine connection, compassion, and the ability to create a safe space are critical for the growth and healing of clients. She prioritizes a client-centered approach while understanding that techniques are not a one size fits all, and always strives to meet people where they currently are. When she is not working or doing schoolwork, Jessica can be found spending time with her family at home, playing outside with her dogs, and traveling any chance she gets.
